Eine chinesische Geschichte erzählte, wie ein Karpfen die Stromschnellen des Gelben Flusses leckte und einen Drachen betrat. Karpfen sind Symbole der Beharrlichkeit, sowie Fruchtbarkeit, wegen der vielen Eier, die sie legen. Auf dem Druck sind Gedichte von drei verschiedenen Dichtern, die sich auf Karpfen, Kirschblüte, die Vigour eines Drachen und Riversin Edo (Tokyo) beziehen. Der Drache repräsentiert den fünften Monat des Jahres im japanischen Monatszyklus der Tierkreise.
