Heute ist der wohl berühmteste Schüler der Keramik von Michael Powolny und der Vienna School of Arts and Crafts Lucie Rie (1902–1995), der 1921–1926 Schüler von Powolny war und 1938 mit der Schule verbunden blieb. Als Töpfer ist sie heute weltberühmt für ihre Kreationen, die von der asiatischen Tradition der Keramik geprägt sind.
