Dieses Gemälde von Acquarone, einer der Hofkünstler von Sultan Abdülhamid II, ist eine Ölkopie der Gravur Kağıthane, veröffentlicht in Mellings Buch Voyage Pittoresque de Constantinople et des rives du Bosphore. In dieser Hinsicht stellt sie ein Beispiel für die Kopien aus Gravuren im letzten Viertel des 19. Jahrhunderts dar. Nach der Beschreibung in Voyage Pittoresque findet das auf Pferden gespielte Jereed-Spiel zwischen den Seiten von Selim III an einem der Lieblings-Exkursionspunkte in İstanbul, Kağıthane, genannt "Sweet Waters of Europe" von den Western statt.
