Dieses Gemälde in den Vereinigten Staaten Capitol Rotunda zeigt die Präsentation des Entwurfs der Unabhängigkeitserklärung zum Kongress. Es basierte auf einer viel kleineren Version derselben Szene, die derzeit von der Yale University Art Gallery gehalten wurde. Trumbull bemalte viele der Figuren aus dem Leben und besuchte Independence Hall sowie die Kammer, wo der zweite Kontinentalkongress traf. Die Öl-on-Canvas-Arbeit wurde 1817 in Auftrag gegeben, 1819 gekauft und 1826 in die Rotunde gelegt.
