Das wurde in Rom, 1634-35 gemalt. Es zeigt Romulus auf der linken Seite und gibt das Signal für die Entführung. Nicolas Poussin produzierte zwei große Versionen dieses Themas, die es ihm ermöglichte, sein unübertroffenes antiquarisches Wissen, zusammen mit seiner Beherrschung komplizierter Figurenverhältnisse in dramatischer Begegnung, vollständig zu zeigen. Das Gemälde ist jetzt im Metropolitan Museum of Art.
