Die sieben Sakramente beziehen sich auf zwei Gemälde der sieben Sakramente des französischen Malers Nicholas Poussin. Dieses Gemälde (1647-48) ist eines der zweiten Sakramente, gemalt für Poussins treuen Freund, Fréart de Chantelou. Hier ist alles dicht und straff, nur Heirat mit seinen Girlanden und leuchtenden Fenstern, zeigt jede Lichtherzigkeit. Das Gemälde (117 x 178 cm) befindet sich in der National Gallery of Scotland, Edinburgh.
