Der Abstieg vom Kreuz ist das zentrale Panel eines Triptychonbildes von Peter Paul Rubens 1612-1614. Das Gemälde ist das zweite von Rubens großen Altarstücken für die Kathedrale Unserer Lieben Frau, Antwerpen, Belgien, zusammen mit der Höhe des Kreuzes. Das Thema war ein Rubens immer wieder in seiner Karriere. Diese besondere Arbeit wurde am 7. September 1611 von der Bruderschaft der Arquebusiers in Auftrag gegeben, deren Patron der Heilige Christopher war.
