Die reichen Farben und irisierenden Oberflächen von Bonnards Innenraum kontrastieren mit dem schlichten, zweistöckigen Haus, das der Künstler 1912 gekauft hat, Ma Roulotte (My Caravan). Aufgrund der schlechten Gesundheit seines Begleiters, Marthe, verbrachten sie dort immer mehr Zeit, im Tal der Seine.
