Der kleine zeremoniale Schnaller ist von der Art, die im sechzehnten und siebzehnten Jahrhundert verwendet wird. Auf der konkaven Seite sehen wir eine elegante Szene in Grisaille mit Gold-Highlights, die eine mythologische Episode mit Diana, Endymion, Cupid und Nymphen darstellt. Auf der konvexen und damit auf der sichtbaren Seite des Schildes befindet sich eine Schlachtszene an den Mauern einer Stadt. Dies könnte der Fall des Karthago sein, und damit eine Allusion zu den militärischen Fetzen der Familie Della Rovere, oder zur Eroberung von Pesaro, eine Episode in 1512 mit Francesco Maria Della Rovere.
