Ramon Padró i Pedret war ein 19-zentrierter Maler und Dekorator, der an der La Llotja Schule der bildenden Künste studierte. Kurz nach seinem Studium zog Padró nach Madrid. Dort war er sehr produktiv, beteiligt an zahlreichen Shows und Wettbewerben. Er malte Schiffe, historische Szenen, Portraits und Stadtlandschaften. Eines seiner emblematischsten Werke, die an der Spitze eines Mandanten gemalt sind, zeigt katalanische Freiwillige an Bord eines Schiffes für Kuba. Im Hafen von Barcelona, gut-wishers können gesehen werden, um die Freiwilligen Abschied von einer Reihe von kleinen Booten, während Montjuïc Berg looms im Hintergrund.
