Im Stil und in der Ausführung ist dieses Porträt eines würdigen älteren Herrn mit Rembrandts Werk von etwa 1645–50 konsistent. Die scheinbare Qualität des Bildes ist durch Abrieb im Gesicht vermindert worden; die Kieferlinie wird retuschiert und die Hand rekonstruiert. Die Augen, der Mund und die Texturen von Haut und Haar bleiben typisch für Rembrandt.
