Gekrönt mit einer alten Tempelstruktur und zart mit Ebenholz, Elfenbein und Perlmutt, ist dieser Schrank ein Meisterwerk des griechischen Revival-Stil. Lawrence Alma-Tadema konzipierte ursprünglich das Stück als Teil einer Möbel-Suite für den Musikraum von Henry G. Marquands New York City Herrenhaus. Ein Eisenbahn-Magnat und Gründer des Metropolitan Museum of Art, Marquand konzipiert von dem Haus als eine Reihe von Zimmern in einer Reihe von historischen Stilen dekoriert, darunter ein maurisches Raucherzimmer, eine japanische Kammer, und ein opulent griechischer Revival-Musikraum.84.101
