Louis Comfort Tiffany nannte seine Glaswaren “favrile”, die aus dem alten englischen sächsischen Wort fabrile (hand-wrought) abgeleitet, um zu betonen, dass seine Corona Pflanze handblown Glas produziert. Seine Blütenform Vasen waren besonders beliebte dekorative Kunstobjekte, die phantasievolle Verbindungen zur natürlichen Welt machten, aber nie wirklich als Blumenhalter funktionieren wollten. Diese Vase war ein Hochzeitsgeschenk an die Mutter des Spenders, Grace Armitage Wilcox Fraser (1882-1950), im Jahre 1903. Das Museum besitzt auch das Hochzeitskleid, das die junge Frau an diesem Tag trug.
