Su Renshan gab die Verfolgung einer offiziellen Karriere in einem jungen Alter und machte ein Leben als Privatlehrer oder als Berater. Er reiste häufig zwischen den Provinzen Guangdong und Guangxi. Dieses Stück ist sein Kommentar über die Praxis der Guizhou-Eingeborenen, Eisenkühe zu gießen, um für Frieden und Stabilität zu beten. Laut Sus Inschrift ist es ein Stück, das auf Mi Fus expansive Kalligraphie-Stil modelliert. Die Tatsache, dass Su seine linke Hand benutzt hat, um das Stück auszuführen, hat es noch außergewöhnlicher gemacht.
