Dieses Tintengemälde wurde von Tō Yōkoku (1760-1801) bemalt, der als Sohn eines Arztes in Nagasaki geboren wurde. Einige Quellen sagen, dass sein Vater ein chinesischer Arzt war, aber es gibt keinen Hinweis darauf, es zu beweisen. Yōkoku war schon gut in seinen Zwanzigern zu malen und war rund um die Tottori-Region berühmt. Er wurde in Katayama angenommen.
