Jackson Pollocks Bilder sind keine Fremden zu hohen Preisen zu Auktion, und seine Nummer 5 ist nicht anders. Im November 2006, Nummer 5, in Pollocks einzigartiger Tropftechnik gemalt, wurde für $140 Millionen Dollar verkauft, der höchste Preis je bei Auktion für ein Gemälde, an einen unbekannten Käufer bezahlt.
