In der ecke des raumes zwei servant-girls suchen vielleicht ein kleidungsstück - ihre präsenz auf dem bild ist eine ausrede für den künstler, durch eine scheinbar alltägliche szene ein gefühl der gemütlichkeit zu erzeugen . Ihre gesten vibrieren ziemlich im licht, das am fenster hereinströmt , erzeugen a near-musical effekt im hintergrund , und verbesserung des vitalen inneren glanzes von Venus' nackter körper . Der hund , die rosen von venus gehalten , und die myrtenpflanze auf der fensterbank sind alle symbole für die beständigkeit der liebe .
