Clarissa Strozzi war die Tochter von Roberto Strozzi und Maddalena dei Medici, die im Exil von 1540 bis 1542 in Venedig lebte. Zusammen mit dem Porträt von Ranuccio Farnese ist dieses Gemälde das zweite bezaubernde Kinderporträt Titian, das 1542 gemalt wurde. Clarissa füttert ihren kleinen Hund, aber wie Ranuccio sieht man etwas vor dem Bild. Dies schafft wieder ein lebendiges Gefühl der Bewegung. Die Putti auf dem Relief betonen Clarissas kindliche Vitalität.
