Ein großartiges Werk von Titians vorzeitiger Reife, das ist sicherlich eines seiner größten Porträts. Die Halbfigur in Dreiviertelansicht zeigt sich neben einem Fenster, das auf einer fernen Landschaft offen ist, deren hochkantige Harmonien mit den tiefen Tönen des Innenraums im Vordergrund kontrastieren. Die Figur ist stilistisch mit dem Titians Porträt von Francesco Maria della Rovere verbunden, das jetzt in der Uffizien ist.
