Dieses Gemälde war ursprünglich Teil eines Prozessbanners für die Bruderschaft Corpus Domini in Urbino. Es gibt noch Dokumente über die in den Jahren 1542 und 1544 geleisteten Zahlungen. Bereits 1546 wurde das Banner geteilt. Hier wiederholt Titian die Zusammensetzung des Polystyrols der Auferstehung. Die größere Farbpalette ist jedoch für seine Arbeit kurz nach 1540 typisch, obwohl beide Teile des Banners mit Hilfe seiner Werkstatt hergestellt worden wären.
