Der Grund dieser feinen Goldschmiedarbeit (Cappenberg Head) liegt auf vier Drachen- oder Löwenköpfen, über ihnen eine achteckige Burgmauer mit vier Eckrevolvern. Drei Engel, knien wie Atlas Figuren, unterstützen die obere Platte mit Kämpfen. (Eine vierte Stützfigur ist verloren.) Auf ihm ruht der Porträtkopf, der mit Gussstiften am mittleren Turm des Sockels befestigt ist. Die Tatsache, dass dieser Kopf ursprünglich Frederick Barbarosssa repräsentiert hatte, wird durch ein Spendendokument bestätigt.
