Catenas Malerei wurde von den Künstlern inspiriert, mit denen er am nächsten Kontakt war. Zunächst war sein Freund der große venezianische Maler Giorgione, aber es gibt auch Anspielungen in seiner Arbeit nach Albrecht Dürer und Giovanni Bellini. Bemalt um 1520, die Anbetung hat großen Charme, aber muss bereits altmodisch in seiner Annäherung an die Zusammensetzung und die Handhabung von Farbe im Licht der Arbeit von Titian.
