Als zutiefst begabter Künstler modelliert Gemito den Fisherboy im prekären Alter von zwanzig. Es ist eine von zwei Besetzungen und wurde 1878 zur Ausstellung in Paris präsentiert. Der ausgeprägte Naturalismus, die angespannten Muskeln und der begehrte Blick des Jungen erfassen Gemitos einzigartige Fähigkeit, seine Schöpfungen zu beleben. Glancing an seinem Fang während des Krochens, die nassen Haare des Jungen zeigt seine jüngste Entstehung aus dem Wasser, da sein Netz um seine Taille fixiert bleibt. Gemito kommt Unschuld und Freude an dieser einzigartigen Arbeit.
