Ein Winterblick auf das Yosemite-Tal mit Schnee auf dem Boden, von einem Künstler bekannt für seine maritimen und arktischen Szenen. Bradford wuchs in New Bedford, Massachusetts auf und drehte sich um Kunst im mittleren Leben, studierte unter niederländischem Meereskünstler Albert Van Beest. Bradford stellte am Boston Athenaeum, der National Academy und der Royal Academy aus. Die Billings kauften dieses Gemälde 1881 beim Besuch von Bradford
