Dieses Muster „Brocatel“ ist eine der letzten drei Entwürfe, die William Morris zusammen mit „Ispahan“ und „Goldener Bough“ zugeschrieben hat. Alle drei wurden für die Kunst- und Handwerksausstellung von 1888 entworfen. Es ist möglich, dass die Muster in Zusammenarbeit mit John Henry Dearle entworfen wurden, Morriss Lehrling, der ihm als Art Director von Morris & Co. gelang.
