Zha Shibiao, auch bekannt durch seinen Höflichkeitsnamen Erzhan und Höflichkeit Namen Meihe, Meihesanren und Mihedaoren, wurde in Haiyang (heute Xiuning in der Provinz Anhui) geboren. Er war berühmt für seine Landschaftsbilder, wo er zunächst Ni Zan und dann Wu Zhen und Dong Qichang imitierte. Seine Werke sind einfach und tragen einen Hauch von Einsamkeit und Einsamkeit. Zha wurde als einer der „Four Painters of the Xin’an School“ bezeichnet, mit den anderen drei Hongren, Sun Yi und Wang Zhirui. Er studierte auch Kalligraphie und bezahlte Hommage an den Stil von Mi Fu.
