Nachtquartiere in Molodetschno (Maladzechna), 3-4 Dezember 1812: Episode aus dem Rückzug Kaiser Napoleon aus Russland. Ein Nachtaufenthalt, wie von beiden ersten Leutnants W.P. d"Auzon de Boisminart und seinem Schwager A. de Groot Stiffry verwendet. Soldaten schützen vor einem provisorischen Schutz der Reede in der Nähe eines Lagerfeuers, direkt die Pferde. Beim Feuer kniet ein Mann mit dem Kopf eines Schweins in seine Hände. Links gehen die französischen Soldaten in langen Reihen durch den Schnee.
