Flip Wilson was an American comedian and actor, born on December 8, 1933 in Jersey City, New Jersey, USA. He was best known for his own weekly series, 'The Flip Wilson Show'. Wilson was one of the first African-Americans to have his own variety show and became a cultural icon in the 1970s. He was inducted into the Official National Comedy Hall of Fame in 1991. Flip Wilson died on November 25, 1998 in Malibu, California.
