The Romans under Cerealis defeat Claudius Civilis by betraying a Batavier. A man betrays the Bataviers to a Roman officer on horseback in the advancing army. Elfth performance in a series of twelve scenes of the Batavier rebellion against the Romans (SK-A-421/432), purchased by the States General in 1613.
