Biography:

Joan Hernández Pijuan was born in Barcelona, Spain in 1931. He studied at the Escuela de Artes y Oficios de la Llotja and the Escola de Bellas Artes de Sant Jordi. He is known for his simple compositions with uniform planes of colors. He is one of the most celebrated Spanish artists of the last few decades. He passed away in 2005.
