Biography:
Yusuke Matsubayashi is a Japanese ceramic artist born in 1980 in Awaji, Japan. He is the eldest son of Hōsai, the 15th generation of the Asahiyaki pottery studio in Uji, Kyoto. Matsubayashi has participated in a project called GO ON, which aims to link producers of traditional crafts with contemporary design. He is known for his work in Asahi ware, a type of Japanese pottery that has been produced in Uji for over 400 years. Matsubayashi's work has been exhibited in galleries and museums, and he has received recognition for his contributions to the field of ceramic art. He continues to work and create in Uji, Kyoto.
