Biography:

Nancy Shaver (born 1946) is an American visual artist based in Jefferson, New York. She earned a BFA at Pratt Institute in 1969. In 1994, Shaver opened the antique shop 'Henry' in Hudson, New York. She has received multiple awards, including the National Women's Political Caucus - Art as Media Award in 2014 and the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Award in 2013. Shaver has taught in Bard College’s MFA program for more than 20 years. She has exhibited her work in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including at the Derek Eller Gallery in New York and the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. Shaver's work often explores themes of domesticity, consumer culture, and the passage of time.
