Biography:
The Japanese artist Kobayakawa Shūsei (1885-1974) was born in Hyogo Prefecture. Accordingly, he witnessed the militarization of Japan that developed during the Meiji Period and continued until the end of World War II. He was a prominent figure in the Japanese art scene during the war period and is known for his paintings that depict the militarization of Japan. He was also a member of the Japanese Imperial Art Academy.
