Visit by Dirk Lodewijk Bennewitz to Adrianus and Elisabeth Bonebakker-Du Pré and their children. A group portrait of the Bonebakker family and the partner Bennewitz, in the living room of presumably Bonebakker's house. A maid in the doorway brings tea, behind her is a look through an office. The two windows show canal houses. Mrs Bonebakker keeps her youngest in her lap, the remaining five children playing with the baby, a book, music and toys. Dirk Louis Bennewitz holds a silver chestnut vase or tobacco pot in hand, Adrianus Bonebakker a letter or document. Two silver baskets on the ground and on a stool refer to the company Bonebakker and Bennewitz, silversmiths in Amsterdam. On the wall are two paintings, the right one is clearly visible: a mountainous landscape.
