Princess Konohanasakuya is a goddess mentioned in the Kojiki, the oldest existing chronicle in Japan dating from the early 8th century. She is said to have been as beautiful as konohana (a flower). Her father was Ooyamatumi-no-kami, the god of mountains. She married Ninigi-no-mikoto, Amaterasu-oomi-kami
