To make the Conch series ornaments, the artist imagined something that could capture the voice of one’s heart like a conch shell that delivers the sound of the sea. This series includes norigae (a traditional ornament) and brooches (a modern ornament). Pieces of cloth were connected, and the curved lines were created using a pinch technique for traditional patchwork. The shape was then completed by giving a three-dimensional effect with hemming stiches. A Korean nuance was ultimately expressed in a sophisticated way through the combination of color combinations or fabric textures. (Fieldwork Press)
