Horizontal, rectangular piece. Plant and crown design stenciled in gold on a blue background in various shades. Selvages retained at the sides.Fortuny design inspired by the rich, Italian Baroque velvets of the 17th century produced for tapestry. Here, taking artistic license, Fortuny has arranged the design horizontally, although the cloth is actually quite narrow. The result is a cloth with so many different shades of color that it resembles a painting.
