Miquel Garriga i Roca (Alella, Maresme 1804 - Barcelona 1888) Architect and town planner. He was commissioned by the Town Council to carry out a project to enlarge Barcelona (1857), a project that was approved but not implemented, since the one by Ildefons Cerdà was accepted instead. As the municipal architect of Barcelona, in 1858 he mapped the entire topography of the city on a scale of 1:250. The resulting map became popularly known as the “Quadroons of Garriga i Roca”.
