Revolution of Troelstra Ivora plate depicts the call for a socialist revolution in The Netherlands under PJ Troelstra (1860-1930) in the city of Leeuwarden from 9-14 November 1918, which was a revolutionary failure. A counter-movement to this was the Orange-movement from those supporting the Dutch royal family Orange-Nassau, as suggested by the central motif of the orange tree.
