Wanda Pimentel built a very personal path in the history of Brazilian art. She was not affiliated with any of the aesthetic commitments or manifestos that claimed their spaces in the construction of the avant-garde. By the mid-1960s, when he began to work, Brazilian art had already gone through the phenomenon of neo-concretism, and his generation, based in Rio and known as New Figuration, was establishing points of contact with conceptual art, such as pop and performance, while creating an autonomous field for its production.
