The painting was purchased by Baron Samuel von Brukenthal namely paternity without being absorbed only as a painting from the Lower Countries. The painting appears to be related to the idea of ephemeral pleasures of life (vita Luxuria), which kills the soul, represented by the bird crushed the cassette cover, with an obvious emphasis, in the case of the work from Sibiu the idea that prostitution or debauchery, in general, is a spiritual death.
