Pintor holandés y artista gráfico. Hijo de arquitecto y escultor Cornelis I Bloemaert (1540–1593). Entrenado en Utrecht con Joost de Beer (1515/1535–1593), 1581–1585 trabajó en París y Fontainebleau con Iehan Bassot, un ‘Maistre Herri’ y Hieronymus Francken, 1585–1591 activo en Utrecht, 1591–1593 Amsterdam, 1594–1651 Utrecht. Uno de los representantes más notables del manierismo tardío Utrecht, que más tarde, de acuerdo con el espíritu de la época, se volvió barroco.
