Vista del puerto de Barcelona vista desde el barrio de Barceloneta. A la derecha podemos ver el antiguo edificio de oficinas del dueño del puerto, y el faro del puerto. En el centro de la composición, el artista ha pintado el buque mixto de vapor, Comillas (1869-1890) [antes de la infanta Isabel (1863-1868)]. El Comillas fue construido en el astillero Denny en Dumbarton (Escocia) en 1863. Construido para navegar por la línea Santander-Puerto Rico-Havana, partió de Santander el 15 de cada mes. En 1891 se vendió por chatarra. Se utilizó para transportar soldados a Cuba.
