Lebourg estudió inicialmente el arte de la École des Beaux Arts en Rouen y viajó extensamente, pasando varios años en Argelia como profesora de dibujo de la Beaux Arts Society of Algiers. Vivió en la región de Auvernia de Francia desde 1884 hasta 1888, pero prefirió el campo de Normandía y terminó asentarse en Rouen. Se unió al grupo impresionista, apareciendo dos veces en sus exposiciones oficiales en París en 1879 y 1880, y continuó exhibiendo en el Salón desde 1883 hasta 1895. En esta vista nocturna a lo largo de las orillas del río Sena, en el duodécimo distrito de París, las torres de Notre Dame son visibles en el fondo centro-izquierda.
