George Lambert (1873-1930), artista, pasó algunos años de su juventud en la tierra, remanente, esquila y disfrutando de la compañía de personajes de arbustos. Un talento para dibujar lo llevó a la escuela de arte en Sydney, que dejó en 1900. Después de dos años en París, donde se entrenó en la Académie Colarossi, regresó a Londres, donde se fundó hasta finales de 1920. Dashing y vigoroso, fue un popular miembro de un círculo de artistas, incluyendo muchos australianos, que frecuentaron el Chelsea Arts Club. Alf Vincent, un dibujante del Boletín de Melbourne, visitó Inglaterra en 1912. Tres años después, en Sydney, se cortó la garganta.
