El hijo pródigo. La historia del Hijo Perdido, representada en cuatro escenas en una pintura. A la izquierda, el hijo se despide de su padre, luego bebe con una mujer en una mesa fuera de una posada. A la derecha el hijo puede ser visto como un cerdo y en la extrema derecha el hogar del hijo, la bienvenida por el padre y la matanza del becerro engordado. El lienzo forma parte de una serie de parábolas pintadas para la iglesia luterana de Leiden (véanse también Nos SK-A-2959 y SK-A-2960).
