Especialista en la pintura de la realidad observada, Consalvo Carelli estuvo comprometido desde su juventud en comisiones oficiales que le ofrecieron un prestigioso acceso en los tribunales europeos primarios. Siguiendo los principios de la Escuela de Posillipo, el artista representa la Isla de Nisida vista desde Nápoles, y la envuelve dentro de un paisaje rebosante de sugerencias románticas.
