Adolphe Crémieux - fue un abogado y político francés que sirvió como Ministro de Justicia bajo la Segunda República (1848) y Gobierno de Defensa Nacional (1870-1871). Sirvió como presidente de la Alianza Israélite Universelle (1863-67; 1868-80), obtuvo la ciudadanía francesa para los judíos argelinos bajo el dominio francés a través del Decreto Crémieux (1870), y fue un firme defensor de los derechos de los judíos de Francia.
