En la fotografía vemos a Walther von Hallwyl, una persona desconocida, Wilhelmina von Hallwyl, Ida Uhse e Irma von Geijer. Walther está vestida con un traje de Cheviot blanco, que había sido ordenado especialmente para el viaje, y el casco de pito obligatorio. No hay documentación sobre el atuendo femenino, aparte de la lista de embalaje conservada en los archivos del Museo Hallwyl. Basado en esa lista, podemos adivinar que están usando faldas de lino con blusas de algodón, y que debajo tienen alguna forma de química y cajones, o una combinación junto con un petticoat. En sus pies tienen medias y botas. Las sombrillas están destinadas a protegerlas del sol.
