La Torre de Gediminas en Vilnius data de la Primera Guerra Mundial. Kazimirowski pintó imágenes realistas: la colina de nieve sobrecrecida con arbustos exuda la frescura del invierno. La bandera negra, roja y blanca del Imperio Alemán vuela sobre la torre, y el ángulo de visión bajo le da una calidad imponente. Las autoridades alemanas fueron las primeras en volar una bandera nacional en la torre del siglo XX, para mostrar qué poder gobernó la ciudad, y la tradición se ha conservado desde entonces.
